New Zealand beginnings. Glasgow mornings.
One machine.
A whole new ritual.
We’re Ahmad and Anisah, the husband-and-wife team behind Pull. We both work in the NHS, so we know the value of a good coffee — but it was our mornings together in New Zealand that turned it into something more.
While living there between 2024 and 2026, we bought a Breville Barista Express. What began as a morning coffee became our favourite part of the day: adjusting the grind, trying new beans, chasing a sweeter espresso and attempting one more piece of latte art.
Café visits turned into coffee workshops and latte-art classes. When it was time to return to the UK, leaving our machine behind wasn’t an option. Carefully wrapped in bubble wrap, it travelled with us via Singapore and Qatar, arriving in Edinburgh before finding its place in our Glasgow home. It still makes our coffee today — New Zealand plug, adapter and all.
A little more about Pull
Back home, we wanted to carry that sense of care and discovery into our everyday lives. We began sharing little videos of our home coffee ritual on Instagram and TikTok. Pull grew from there: a way to share what we love, and create the kind of coffee goods we’d want to use ourselves.
Our ambition is simple: thoughtful, good-looking tools that earn their place on your coffee bar. Quality that lasts, at a price that feels within reach. Small details that make preparing and enjoying coffee at home a little better.
We’re starting with a ceramic mug. Because sometimes bringing people together begins with something as simple as making them a cup.
